Virginia Beach City FC Rebrands as Virginia Atlantic FC

Norfolk, Va – After more than a decade competing under the Virginia Beach City FC identity, the club announced today that it will officially rebrand as Virginia Atlantic FC, marking a new chapter in the organization’s identify within the Hampton Roads region and national soccer landscape.

Founded in 2013, the club has grown from a men’s program competing in the National Premier Soccer League into one of the region’s leading soccer platforms, now competing nationally in both the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and USL W League while operating a comprehensive pre-professional development pathway through its academy system.

The transition to Virginia Atlantic FC reflects the organization’s long-term vision to central an accessible while representing the entire Hampton Roads metropolitan region on a national scale.

“Over the past decade, our club has evolved beyond Virginia Beach,” said club Chairman Steven Wagoner. “Our players, families, supporters, and partners come from across Hampton Roads, while our core supporters, programming and facilities are centrally located in Norfolk. The Virginia Atlantic FC identity better reflects who we are today and where we are headed in the future.”

The organization will continue to be headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, where the club’s offices and long-term stadium vision remain centered. Club leadership believes Norfolk is naturally positioned within the center of the seven cities and that the broader Hampton Roads market is uniquely positioned for the continued development and advancement of soccer within the American landscape.

The new name also aligns with the club’s broader vision of building a regional brand capable of competing and resonating nationally on behalf of Virginia’s Atlantic Coast, while still honoring the club’s roots and history established under Virginia Beach City FC.

The club also confirmed it will retain its current crest and overall visual identity, with the primary change centered around the club’s wordmark and transition to the Virginia Atlantic FC name.

To ensure a smooth transition for supporters, players, academy families, and prospective student-athletes, the club will continue utilizing certain Virginia Beach City FC branding elements during a short transition period. Club websites, social media platforms, uniforms, merchandise, and related branding assets are expected to fully transition to Virginia Atlantic FC by July 2026.

“We want to ensure supporters, academy families, and future players experience a smooth transition and always know where to find and follow the club during this next chapter,” Wagoner said. “We are incredibly grateful for the history, memories, and foundation built as Virginia Beach City FC, and we are excited to begin the next era as Virginia Atlantic FC.”

Virginia Atlantic FC plans to maintain its existing commitment to player development, community engagement, and advancing opportunities for athletes throughout the region.

Additional branding, merchandise releases, and future club initiatives are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
